Person Who Tells Falsehood

How can we distinguish when a person tells falsehoods?

“What is truth?” retorted Pilate. (John 18:38)

Lies are all over our existence, but really should we be preoccupied trying to know who is lying. Wouldn't it be more comfortable to know what truth is about? Have we all lied in this life? I am guilty of this sin. There was a time when I was a teenager that I was so good at lying. I got scared of myself because I felt proud of being such a good liar. Thank God I discerned that it was better having freedom of truth than having to remember untruth details. It felt so good the release of having to lie upon lie, upon lie; one lie doesn't sustain by itself.

A lie gives birth to lies and here is when evil plays with your peace, joy and salvation. The sad part is that others get hurt by a person who tells falsehood. This is why we need to change our falsehood words to true words.

A person that tells falsehoods uses untrue statements. This person has absence of truth or accuracy. This person practices lying. This person is a:

• cheater
• deceiver
• pretender
• falsifier
• perjurer
• troublemaker
• distorter
• faker
• dishonest
• palterer

Lies do not have colors or sizes. A lie is a lie. It is false, not true. How many times we think that a little lie excuses a bill to be paid. How many times we think we got away pretending to be sick. My object here is not to bring shame, or judgment. It is to give light that by staying in truth is a better path...it is the only way to stay unhidden.

Staying in the truth; keeps us joyful, peaceful and alive.

John 8:42 - 44 says:

Jesus said to them, If God were your Father, you would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do you not understand my speech? even because you cannot hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

"There are six things which the LORD hates,
Yes, seven which are an abomination to Him:

Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood,

A heart that devises wicked plans,

Feet that run rapidly to evil,

A false witness who utters lies,

And one who spreads strife among brothers."

Do you think that God doesn't know about our human condition? He does! That is why He gives us the way out. If you need help I encourage you to seek truth in The Word of God.

Have you seen the effects of a tsunami, a volcano irruption, a tornado, or a hurricane....it is devastating! It kills all sort of life: people, animals, and plants. These effects are no different from those of lies.

Some effects of lies may be: broken marriages, heart broken parents, and the deep sadness of guiltiness. Perhaps lairs will keep their path like if nothing ever happened...but, the experience is that it will come to light one day or another.

Lies do hurt and are totally an unnecessary evil. A liar is a person who needs to be loved. It is not easy, better would be to kick them. If you know the truth it will set you free. We don't need to suffer for other's lies. We need to love them and forgive them.

The liar needs to know that they are deceiving themselves. They are the one that will pay for their actions of misleading. Giving false statements or impressions should only concern the one that chooses to do so. The truth always comes out, because the only hidden thing is a lie (for a short moment).

We need to forgive the sinner of lies.

"Pilate therefore said to him, Are you a king then? Jesus answered, You say that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Every one that is of the truth hears my voice." (John 18: 37)

Don't listen to the father of lies but do surrender to our Creator, Lord and Savior. Let's love one another and walk with the truth until th end of our days!
