Combining Blessings: Apple Cider Vinegar/Pure Honey

Updated on December 1, 2013

I write this hub to share our blessings found in the combination of apple cider vinager and pure honey.

My middle sister had told me about the benefits within the combination of apple cider vinegar and pure honey as an answer to all my health complaints. She told me about a testimony she heard of a man that was told to drink apple cider vinegar (ACV) because his hands were affected by rheumatoid arthritis. A year later, after the treatment he had his hands in the normal position.

Who doesn't want good health in any aspect?

We started to try to find the apple cider vinegar without luck; even at the grocery store when we asked for it, we were sent to the liquor area. Cider is an alcoholic beverage made exclusively from the juice of specially grown varieties of apples. We wanted the apple cider vinegar (for health) until at last we found it where it should be…in the juice area.

Home remedies

Almost everybody has a way to go along with home remedies occasionally. Some remedies work for some kind of people, it depends in the usage itself, the physical condition of the person, as well as the severity of the condition. The term used to refer as alternative medicine, natural medicine or traditional medicine is "folk medicine".

Folk medicines are remedies directed to cure the causes of illness. They treat illnesses, but they do not prevent them. It must become part of our daily routines; the maintenance of a good health and a high quality of life. We need to take care of our bodies, eat healthy diets and exercise; without forgetting our spiritual condition, since it is an essential part of us as humans.

Mixture of whole apple cider vinegar and honey

An American physician best known for his writings on the theme of folk medicine was DeForest Clinton Jarvis (1881-1966). This physician recommended a mixture of whole apple cider vinegar and honey that have variously been called switchel or honegar, as a health tonic.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) has many nutrients such as: multitude of vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids that can cure or prevent health conditions. It is made by crushing apples and squeezing out the liquid.

Honey is a sweet made by bees using nectar from flowers. The flavors are various depending on their nectar source. The natural sugar in Pure Honey, used properly, can improve energy level significantly. These sugars can help senior citizens and others who suffer common fatigue.

Combining apple cider vinegar and honey will change the chemical formula of each. The acid content of apple cider vinegar or the sugar content of honey will not produce negative results.

The mainly usage dosage I found and that we use is: 1 tablespoon ACV and1 teaspoon of Pure Honey (recommended to omit in case of diabetics) in a glass of water. 3 times a day with meals.

Below I will share my findings of some health conditions and how this mix becomes a blessing:
